I have good news about the type of developments that will be allowed in the Campbelltown area, from now on. We are one step closer to seeing another commitment I made to the people of Hartley at the last State Election come to fruition. The Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure (DPTI) are improving the safety of motorists and pedestrians with the installation of traffic lights at the intersection of Newton Road and Graves Street.

I recently had the pleasure to visit Norwood Morialta High School with the Premier and the Minister for Education to announce the new Space Industry Work-Experience Program. This initiative will give South Australian secondary school students direct access to the state’s burgeoning space sector, with a new pilot work experience program.   

On 28 March 2019 we held another community forum on the topic of ‘Remaining active in your senior years’. There was a terrific turnout to hear Associate Professor Gaynor Parfitt, an Associate Professor in Exercise and Sport Psychology from the University of South Australia, speak on the topic of remaining active in our senior years.

Our first year in Government has been a busy year. We have worked hard to deliver on creating more jobs, lowering costs for families and businesses, as well as bettering government services for our community.

Improving South Australia’s environmental footprint and decreasing electricity prices is one of the central focuses of the State Government. The Home Battery Scheme introduced by the State Government has made it possible for South Australian households to access $100 million in subsidies and $100 million in loans to pay for home battery system installations.

On Tuesday the 9^th of October 2018 I hosted the Hartley Soup Night, a Domestic Violence awareness event, held at the Hectorville Sports and Community Club in Magill.

Member for Hartley, Vincent Tarzia, is calling on the State Government to help upgrade the female facilities at the Hectorville Sports and Community Club.

I hold in my hand a petition signed by no fewer than 100 members of my local community concerning parking at Paradise Interchange. As we know, many locals have demanded improved parking facilities at Paradise Interchange for some time.

MORE side streets around Paradise bus interchange are becoming congested with cars as O-Bahn commuters battle for space, increasing pressure on the State Government to find a permanent solution.
