Home Battery Scheme

Sunday 28 October, 2018

Improving South Australia’s environmental footprint and decreasing electricity prices is one of the central focuses of the State Government. The Home Battery Scheme introduced by the State Government has made it possible for South Australian households to access $100 million in subsidies and $100 million in loans to pay for home battery system installations.

Improving South Australia’s environmental footprint and decreasing electricity prices is one of the central focuses of the State Government. The Home Battery Scheme introduced by the State Government has made it possible for South Australian households to access $100 million in subsidies and $100 million in loans to pay for home battery system installations. Energy Concession Holders are eligible to receive a higher subsidy; allowing low-income homes access to the scheme.

Participating households can receive help to pay for the battery and additional solar panels through finances made by the Commonwealth Government’s Clean Energy Finance Corporation. The development of home battery systems will allow greater opportunities to address network issues and monitor power demands.

Clean energy plays an important part in our efforts to decrease our environmental footprint. I encourage those eligible to access the subsidy and apply for financial support by visit www.homebatteryscheme.sa.gov.au or by calling 8463 3555.
