We’re building on our significant investment in the ambulance service with a further 51 FTE paramedics.
FACT: SA spends more per capita on our ambulance service than any other mainland state or territory.
These latest positions are in addition to the 74 extra ambulance officers we announced in the 2021-22 State Budget.
We’ve also invested in other measures to ease the pressure on the ambulance service, including a standby workforce of up to 100 final year paramedicine students to help transport patients through the pandemic.
It’s part of our plan to strengthen our health system and build a strong future for SA.
