The Liberal Opposition is excited to announce an $11 million commitment to deliver the Hallett Cove Seaside Pool if elected to Government in 2026 - enhancing community access to South Australia’s beautiful coastline, while promoting recreation and fostering community engagement.

This initiative reflects the Liberal Party’s dedication to the people of Black as well as the broader community – providing a safe and enjoyable environment for families, swimmers and beachgoers.

“The Hallett Cove Seaside Pool is more than just a recreational facility, it’s about building environments that promote wellness and connection, and this project will do just that,” Leader of the Opposition, Vincent Tarzia said.

“With more than 14,000 households within the electorate of Black, many of whom have expressed their support for this facility, it’s a project I look forward to delivering if elected in 2026.”

In 2023, a City of Marion ‘Community Feedback Report’ revealed overwhelming support for a 50 metre Hallett Cove Seaside Pool – with 80 per cent of both survey respondents and community drop-in participants providing positive feedback on the project.

Shadow Minister for Environment and Sport, Matt Cowdrey OAM MP emphasised the importance of recreational sporting facilities for overall health and wellbeing.

“The Hallett Cove Seaside Pool, which will be free of charge to access, provides an accessible space for physical activity, promoting social interaction, and fostering a connection with nature,” Mr Cowdrey said.

The design for the 50 metre seaside pool includes features to protect the embankment between the beach and the foreshore from coastal erosion, while enhancing a part of the beach which is currently underutilised.

The South Australian Liberal Party will also collaborate with the City of Marion to oversee key elements of the project, including day-today management and operations as well as an appropriate car parking and traffic management solution.

“Speaking to community members in Black, it’s clear that this is a project they really want to see delivered,” Liberal Candidate for Black, Amanda Wilson said.

“A seaside pool will be an incredible community asset and has the potential to transform Hallett Cove into an iconic attraction, offering a unique destination within metropolitan Adelaide. I am dedicated to bringing this vision to life.”

As the 2026 State Election approaches, the South Australian Liberal Party stands firm in its promise to serve the community and create opportunities for protecting and enhancing South Australia’s iconic coastline.
