After two terms and almost eight years as the Member for Colton, Matt Cowdrey has today shared with colleagues that he will be retiring from politics at the 2026 State Election.
Matt has been a valued member of the team, and we thank him for his service to the people of Colton, South Australia and to the Parliament.
I have no doubt that the Colton community will continue to benefit from his advocacy through to next year and beyond, and I take this opportunity to recognise his contribution.
On behalf of his Liberal Party colleagues, I wish Matt well in his next chapter and trust that he will enjoy the extra time with his family that stepping away from politics will allow.
Rest assured we have plans in place for the people of Colton to continue to have a strong Liberal representative beyond March 2026.
Our focus as a team remains firmly on delivering a strong alternative for South Australians.
