Members of the South Australian Liberal Opposition in the Upper House have today named Hon Heidi Girolamo MLC as Deputy Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Council.
Ms Girolamo, a dedicated member of the Legislative Council since 2021, has a professional background as a chartered accountant, a small business owner, and is a former board member of Kidsafe SA – as well as being an active member of the local community.
Ms Girolamo is also the recently appointed Shadow Minister for Education, as well as being the Shadow Minister for Cost of Living and Shadow Minister for Finance and Tax Reform.
Leader of the Opposition, Vincent Tarzia said he is looking forward to working alongside Ms Girolamo in her new role.
"It is a resounding vote of confidence for Heidi to be elected to this position unopposed by her peers," Mr Tarzia said.
"She is a dedicated and hardworking member of the Legislative Council, and I look forward to the energy and ideas she will bring to the Liberal leadership team.”
Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Council, Nicola Centofanti said she is excited to work with Ms Girolamo as Deputy Leader.
"As part of the leadership group, Heidi and I will continue to ensure our hard-working team is not only holding the Labor Government to account but presenting our vision for the future of South Australia,” Ms Centofanti said.
“I have no doubt we will be a formidable and dynamic duo.”
Ms Girolamo said she is honoured to be appointed Deputy Leader in the Legislative Council.

“I will work hard to ensure South Australians have the best outcomes in education, as well as ensuring this state is an affordable place to live both now and into the future.”
